Hylton, a 5-foot-7 guard, spent two seasons with the Aggies, which included a 2024 NCAA Tournament appearance. Hylton averaged 4.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists per game last season.
"Tineya brings the experience, defensive mentality and work ethic our program needs," said Merriweather. "She will make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball and allow us to play up-tempo. Her toughness fits our style, and her belief in us and where we're headed means everything. I am looking forward to her meshing with our current roster and her leadership as our point guard. With the addition of Tineya, we certainly got better and we can't wait to get started."
A Toronto native , Hylton starred on the U23 Canada National Team where she earned a silver medal at the 2023 GLOBL JAM. She averaged 4.0 points and 1.3 steals per game during the tournament.
As a junior in 2023-24, she led the team in assists five times and recorded three double-digit scoring performances. She dished out a career-high seven assists vs. Vanderbilt on Feb. 15, 2024 – the second-highest assist total by an Aggie that season.
