Video: WBB Four-Star Point Guard Caliyah DeVillasee Discusses Commitment to UC

Katrina Merriweather and her staff have picked up another impressive win on the recruiting trail in the class of 2025.

On Sunday afternoon, four-star point guard Caliyah DeVillasee committed to Cincinnati over other finalists' Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

A 5-foot-7 point guard out of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School (Owing Mills, MD), DeVillasee is rated as the #43 prospect nationally in the ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 and #1 ranked player in the state of Maryland.

DeVillasee averaged 16.2 points 1.6 steals, 1.5 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game, respectively, while shooting 67% from the field during her junior season.

Caliyah joined the At Large Bid Bearcats Podcast Tuesday evening to discuss what stood out about the Bearcats during her recruitment and what ultimately led to her commitment:

Nicknamed "Lil Bit," Caliyah has the ability to play and score at all three levels, while also consistently setting her teammates up as a pass first point guard. She plays with a tenacity on defense and shows great vision in the open court. Those attributes are key contributing factors for her being widely regarded as one of the best point guards in the country.

DeVillasee joins five-star Cincinnati Purcell Marian wing Dee Alexander, Tennessee combo guards Joya Crawford (Dyersburg, TN) and Paige Whitted (Briarcrest, TN), as well as versatile forward Kali Barrett out of Cardinal Mooney (FL) in Cincinnati's 2025 class.
