Watch: Satterfield, Sorsby, Barnes, Peek Jr Recap Spring Scrimmage
Cincinnati took to the field Saturday afternoon to give UC fans their first look at the Bearcats in a Spring Showcase.
Key plays during the showcase included two touchdowns by running back Chance Williams, including a 50-yard run for a score. 6-foot-5 Lindenwood wide receiver transfer, Jeff Caldwell, also had a touchdown in the corner of the end zone from quarterback Brady Lichtenberg.
"We were right where we wanted to be today, short and sweet," head coach Scott Satterfield said. "A lot of young guys got reps today, and some newcomers made some plays as well. We also wanted to see some field goals in an atmosphere like this, and that was good. We knocked those down as well, then I thought Max Fletcher also punted the ball really well today. Overall, it was a good day. I think both sides made some plays, and that's what you want to see anytime you have a scrimmage like this."
New Mexico State transfer safety Tayden Barnes and Antwan Peek Jr. both had interceptions to lead the defense.
Following the Spring Showcase, Satterfield was joined by quarterback Brendan Sorsby, as well as Barnes and Peek Jr. to discuss where the team currently is as spring practice winds down.
