Update: Dan Skillings Injury

Cincinnati announced Tuesday that junior guard Dan Skillings would be sidelined following successful knee surgery.

CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati junior guard Dan Skillings Jr. underwent a successful minor procedure on his knee Monday.

He is expected to make a full recovery. His availability will be determined on a week-by-week basis moving forward.

"Dan's long-term health is the top priority for us, and we have full trust in our medical staff, led by our trainer Bob Mangine," head coach Wes Miller said. "Dan is a leader for our team on and off the court. We know he will continue to push and encourage his teammates. We hope to have him back on the court soon."
Skillings finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds in UC's season opening 109-54 win over Pine-Bluff.
With Skillings out, it should mean an expanded role for Connor Hickman at the two position. Miller also stated following the win over Morehead State that he is hopeful Day Day Thomas makes his season debut this Friday against Nicholls.
