Video: East Paulding (GA) Tight End DaMari Witherspoon Discusses Commitment to Cincinnati
Cincinnati added to their 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday evening with the commitment of tight end DaMari Witherspoon out of East Paulding High School in Dallas, GA.
Witherspoon discussed what stood out about the Bearcats, as well as his relationship with Coach Josh Stepp following the commitment:
After earning an offer from Cincinnati following an impressive camp showing in June, Witherspoon ultimately chose the Bearcats over offers from Ball State, Buffalo, UMass, Toledo, and Western Kentucky.
At 6'5, 220 lbs, DaMari has a 6'9" wing span, 33 3/4 arm, and 9 3/4 inch hands.
With those types of measurables, it easy to see why there was so much intrigue in the athleticism and size of Witherspoon. Those measurables were on full display during Weatherspoon's first game of his senior year.

Primarily a receiving tight end, the talented Georgia product showcases his ability to make catches in space with good route running, while also proving to be a willing blocker off the line.
Witherspoon is the second tight end taken in this cycle, joining Kamaurri Smith out of Dayton Wayne (OH). Both should prove to be valuable additions to the future success of the Bearcats' program.
