NFL Draft Recap: Williams selected in 7th Round

The 2025 NFL Draft did not play out as expected for several Cincinnati stars, as UC offensive lineman John Williams was the lone selection.

Williams, who started all 24 games at left tackle the past two seasons, was taken in the 7th round with the 250th pick by the Green Bay Packers.

During the NFL combine, Williams ran a 5.14 40-yard dash, also pushing up 29 reps on the bench press. While Williams has good size (6'4" 322 lbs) with great length and big hands, he will most likely be asked to move from tackle to guard at the next level.

Williams' selection continues a streak of 10 consecutive years where a Bearcat has been drafted.

Bearcats who were signed as undrafted free agents:

OL Luke Kandra- Carolina Panthers

OL Dartanyan Tinsley- Cleveland Browns

RB Corey Kiner- San Francisco 49ers

WR Jamoi Mayes- Cincinnati Bengals

DB Josh Minkins- New England Patriots

LB Jared Bartlett- New York Jets
