Wes Miller announced the addition of veteran coach, Bill Comar, as the program's new Chief of Staff on Thursday afternoon.
Comar arrives at Cincinnati after spending the last three seasons at Ball State as special assistant to the head coach, first under James Whitford and the past two seasons under Michael Lewis.
Comar's experience includes being a part of programs who have made 18 postseason appearances, which includes 12 NCAA Tournament berths. Three of those appearances included trips to the Elite Eight. Comar has worked directly with Archie Miller (Indiana), Herb Sendek (Miami), Charlie Coles (Miami), Oliver Purnell (Dayton), Thad Matta (Xavier) and Sean Miller (Xavier) in previous roles.
As Special Assistant to the Head Coach, Comar had direct oversight of all-non coaching personnel within the Ball State program and managed relationships with academics, compliance, financial aid, housing, business office, scheduling, and equipment, in addition to athletics and the university as a whole.
An Illinois native, Comar helps fill the void and some of the responsibilities of Jake Thelen, who departed UC for his alma mater, Covington Catholic (KY), to become their new Boy's Basketball Head Coach.
