Max Fletcher commits and other football roster updates
Following Cincinnati's spring game, several guys elected to find new homes through the transfer portal.
The biggest of the names was redshirt freshman safety Jayden Davis, who was likely to contribute in Tyson Veidt's three-high safety look this season.

Others who entered the transfer portal included defensive lineman Derrick Shepard and linebacker Tyler Gillison.

Gillison finished his redshirt freshman season with 15 tackles over 10 games last season. He played 124 snaps in 2023.
Shepherd was a former four-star recruit in the class of 2022, but struggled to see the field during his first two seasons, finishing with just four tackles during the 2023 season.
Cincinnati did land their punter of the future, however, as Arkansas junior Max Fletcher committed to Cincinnati on Friday.
Fletcher, the brother of current punter Mason Fletcher, averaged 43.2 yards per attempt with a long of 71 last season for the Razorbacks. Those numbers earned the former Razorback All-SEC Second Team honors.
Fletcher has three years to play two, and will likely redshirt this coming season with Mason Fletcher having one season left.
Cincinnati also added Central Arkansas linebacker Jake Golday.
Golday is a 6-foot-4 236 pound outside linebacker, who finished with 82 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 7 TFL and a FF last season as a sophomore.
