Local product Erik Gayle staying home

Cincinnati added their second commitment in the last week on Monday when Withrow pass rusher Erik Gayle decided to stay home and commit to the Bearcats.

At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Gayle has the size and athleticism to play as a rush edge or outside linebacker in Tyson Veidt's 3-5-3 scheme.

On film, Gayle primarily plays as a stand up pass rusher off the edge. He shows great ball awareness and constantly keeps his eyes in the backfield. His athleticism allows him to make plays sideline-to-sideline and you can see the high motor that he plays with.

Gayle chose the Bearcats over reported offers from Boston College, Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisville, among others.

Cincinnati now has seven commits in the 2025 class.
