Jamille Reynolds enters the transfer portal

After Viktor Lakhin made the decision to enter his name into the transfer portal on Monday, sources confirmed that 6-foot-11 Cincinnati center Jamille Reynolds would also enter his name into the transfer portal.

The veteran big man posted the following message, announcing his transfer:

"Dear Cincinnati Fans,

I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support you've shown me during my time here. Cincinnati has some of the best fans in the country, and I’ve felt nothing but welcomed and embraced from day one. My journey here has been about growth, both on and off the court thanks to the amazing coaches, my teammates , and my fellow Bearcats. However, I've made the tough decision to enter the transfer portal to be closer to my family as we navigate through some personal challenges.Leaving Cincinnati is difficult, and I want to thank everyone - my professors, coaches, and especially you, the fans, for making my time here unforgettable. Though I may be moving on, my spirit remains with the Bearcats. I'll always cherish the memories and the lessons learned.I’m forever grateful and will always be a Bearcat at heart. Thank you for everything!"

Reynolds finished the season averaging 5.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, scoring double figures in games against Oklahoma State, West Virginia, and Texas.

The Florida big man began his career at UCF prior to transferring to Temple, and then UC.

Reynolds sat out the first 9 games of the season while awaiting ruling on an appeal for immediate eligibility as a second time transfer.

While Reynolds gave Wes Miller and the Bearcats a different look and dynamic at both ends of the court, lack of consistency prevented him from ever making a significant impact. Reynolds took to X following the Indiana State loss to voice his frustrations with not receiving the ball when fans criticized his play. The tweets were deleted but it would be silly to not think the comments didn't make it back to the coaching staff.

With Reynolds and Lakhin now in the transfer portal, Cincinnati will have two scholarships available for the 2024/25 season.
