IU transfer Brendan Sorsby Commits to UC

Portal Season is officially here and the Bearcats picked up their first commitment from the portal this morning when Indiana quarterback transfer Brendan Sorsby committed to Scott Satterfield and his staff.

Sorsby is coming off a redshirt freshman season in which he completed 135-of-236 passes for 1,587 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions.

While not a true dual threat, Sorsby is a big, physical quarterback that has the ability to get out of the pocket and use his legs.

The 6-foot-3 230 pound quarterback from Denton, TX rushed 112 times this season for 286 yards and 4 touchdowns with 151 of those yards coming in the final three games of the season.  Indiana's offense averaged 400.6 yards per game and 32.3 points per in the final three games with Sorsby starting to settle in as the starting quarterback.

The plays above are two of the many examples where Sorsby shows his pocket awareness and ability to make good decisions on whether or not to run or continue to go through his progressions and look down field for an open receiver.

Sorsby will arrive at Cincinnati with three years of eligibility left and join a quarterback room that also includes redshirt sophomore Brady Lichtenberg and true freshman Brady Drogosh. Four star St. Joseph's Prep quarterback Samaj Jones will also join the roster next fall.
