Georgia linebacker commits to Cincinnati
The Bearcats have already had a busy June, hosting official visit weekends the first two weeks of the month.
After visiting the Clifton campus May 31st-June 2nd, Lincoln County (GA) linebacker/safety CJ Crite chose to commit to the Bearcats over offers from Appalachian State, USF, and Western Kentucky, among others.
While those offers might not jump off the page to some, when you turn on the film, it is easy to see why Cincinnati made Crite an early priority.
Listed at 6'1", 195 lbs, Crite has the versatility to slot in as either an outside linebacker or safety in Tyson Veidt's three high safety look. Crite shows great ball awareness and a high IQ on film, allowing him to play fast and physical. He also made an impact on special teams with a punt block this past season. Crite finished his junior season with 112 solo tackles and 139 total.
The Peach State product was also a productive wide receiver, finishing with 549 yards and eight touchdowns on 24 receptions during his junior year.
Crite becomes the tenth commitment for Cincinnati in the 2025 cycle, joining Patrick Williams (Rabun Gap, GA), Erik Gayle (Cincinnati, OH), Benny Patterson (Newburgh, IN), and Jermaine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL) on the defensive side of the ball.
UC is currently ranked 31st in the 247sports team recruiting rankings.
