FAU transfer wide receiver Tony Johnson commits to Cincinnati

The Bearcats picked up another transfer portal addition on Sunday with the commitment of 5'10" Florida Atlantic wide receiver Tony Johnson.

After visiting UC December 12th, Johnson decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Bearcats this evening.

Johnson has an interesting story, initially being a walk on, but finished his redshirt sophomore season with 37 receptions for 411 yards and 4 touchdowns. He had a season high 131 yards on 8 catches in a 56-14 win over South Florida.

During his two years at FAU, Johnson caught 60 passes for 669 yards and 7 touchdowns.

At 5'10, Johnson brings speed and physicality to the wide receiver position and has the ability to line up inside or outside depending on the personnel. 

The Ocala, FL native will come to Cincinnati with two years of eligibility left.
