Cincinnati set to hire Memphis Running backs coach Sean Dawkins

Scott Satterfield has found his replacement for running backs coach De'Rail Sims after Sims elected to leave Cincinnati for the same position at Tennessee.

Memphis running backs coach Sean Dawkins is set join the Cincinnati staff after spending 2022-23 in Memphis. The former Troy running back helped improve its rushing attack in 2023, as Blake Watson rushed for more than 1,000 yards. South Carolina transfer running back Mario Anderson, who Dawkins also helped recruit, is expected to play a major role in 2024.

Dawkins previous stops also include Austin Peay, Troy, and Charlotte.

In his first season with Charlotte in 2019, Dawkins oversaw Conference USA’s top ranked running game. Charlotte put up a school-record 2,639 rushing yards and averaged 203.0 rushing yards/game.

Dawkins will inherit a running back room that consists of returning 1,000 yard rusher, Corey Kiner, as well as Ohio State transfer Evan Pryor, among others.
