Alabama Safety Xavier Starks commits to UC

Cincinnati received their fifth commitment of the 2026 cycle on Friday when safety Xavier Starks announced his commitment to the Bearcats.

A 6'0", 185-pound athlete out of Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson (AL), Starks chose UC over offers from Arkansas and Mississippi State, among others.

On film, Starks shows a guy who gets downhill in a hurry to make plays in the backfield, while also eluding blockers. Starks shows good instincts and play recognition in both the run and pass game.

Starks joins Detroit Martin Luther King safety Jaidon Windom as the second safety to commit to UC in the 2026 cycle.

Starks was visited by new Cincinnati safeties coach Adam Braithwaite on January 23rd.

Last week, the Bearcats added their first offensive line commitment when Hephzibah (GA) offensive lineman Solomon Mathis announced his commitment to UC.
