3-Star Elder Linebacker Commits to Cincinnati

Scott Satterfield and his staff received their second commitment in the 2026 cycle on Monday evening when three-star Elder (OH) linebacker Derek Uran committed to the Bearcats.

The local product chose the Bearcats over MAC offers from the likes of Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Kent State, and Miami (OH), but the rising junior had previously been on unofficial visits to Indiana, Michigan State, as well as Ohio State.

At 6'2, 195 pounds, Uran brings a wide variety of skills. A notable track star that competes in the 110 hurdles, Uran has spent time at linebacker, safety, cornerback, and has also came off the edge as a pass-rusher. Playing in Tyson Veidt's three-high safety look, his most natural fit may be as a safety that plays inside the box.

Uran finished his junior season with 75 total tackles, 12 TFL's, 9.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbls, and two interceptions. Uran is rated the 44th best player in Ohio.

Uran joins Jonesboro (GA) linebacker Jerimia Collier in UC's 2026 class.
