True freshman Trey Green and Dailyn Swain were also selected as members of the Big East All-Freshman team. Swain showed an ability to be a swiss army knife type player for Sean Miller this season with his defensive abilities as well as strong athleticism. Swain had 3 starts during his freshman year, and had the game winning dunk vs Georgetown at Cintas Center. Trey Green had his career day at Providence in January when he scored 23 points hitting five three-pointers during the game.

Lastly, sophomore guard Desmond Claude was named the Big East's Most Improved player.

Claude saw a 13 MPG jump from his first year at Xavier while also having a nearly 12 PPG jump going from 4.7 PPG his freshman year to 16 in year two. Desmond Claude's 36 points at Georgetown on March 2nd sparked a double-digit comeback for Xavier on the road.

The Musketeers will kick off Big East Tournament Play Thursday, January 14th at 4 PM EST when they face the Butler Bulldogs.
