WBB: Cincinnati a finalist for 2025 five-star Dee Alexander

Cincinnati women's basketball head coach Katrina Merriweather and her staff have continued to swing for the fences on the recruiting trail since taking over at Cincinnati.

On Monday, 2025 five-star Purcell Marian (Cincinnati, OH) wing Dee Alexander named Cincinnati in her final three, along with Ohio State and Illinois.

Alexander, who won Ohio Miss Basketball as a sophomore and junior, became just the seventh player in state history to win the award in consecutive seasons,

ESPN lists Alexander as the sixth best player nationally in the class of 2025.

After scoring 18 points in a 79-52 win over Shaker Heights Laurel in the Division II state championship game, Alexander is now the state tournament's all-time leading scorer with 134 points. Purcell Marian has won three consecutive state championships, one in Division III, and the previous two in Division II.

The Cincinnati product averaged 18.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game during her junior season.

At 6-foot-1, Alexander is a skilled wing, who handles the ball like a point guard and can score from all three levels while also defending all five positions at the other end of the floor.

The skillset displayed on the court is just part of the reason that Alexander has racked up over 30 scholarships offers that included the likes of Iowa, South Carolina, UConn, and Notre Dame, among others.

Off the court, Alexander is an honors student.

Stay tuned as we continue to track and follow Alexander's recruitment as it comes to a close.
