FC Cincinnati's Ian Murphy, Miles Robinson and Roman Celentano called up to USMNT Training camp

Earlier this afternoon, the United States Men's National Team announced their 25 men roster for January's training camp which featured FC Cincinnati defenders Ian Murphy, Miles Robinson and Goalkeeper Roman Celentano. The training camp takes place from January 8th-16th down in Orlando, Florida.

The FC Cincinnati trio is tied with the Columbus Crew for the most representatives on the training camp roster with three members each. However, this is such a unique honor for the Orange and Blue and their three key contributors to see their success pay off in such a huge honor.

Newly signed defender Miles Robinson enters his first season with FC Cincinnati, the 27-year-old defender has already made 27 appearances across all competitions for the USMNT over the last three seasons. Robinson, has already proven himself as one of the best defenders in all of the MLS, now he gets another opportunity to showcase his talents with the USMNT.

Defender Ian Murphy earns his first call up after a huge 2023 season where he started the last 17 of 19 matches for the Orange and Blue, in place of the injured Nick Hagglund. Murphy, only 23 years of age, is set for a big season for FC Cincinnati following the departure of Yerson Mosquera who is now back playing for the Wolverhampton Wonderers of the Primer League. Murphy has been a key contributor since being selected back with the 14th overall pick back in the 2022 MLS Super Draft making 66 appearances for the Orange and Blue over the last two seasons.

Goalkeeper Roamn Celentano earns a call up for the second consecutive season after a huge 2023 campaign where he was one of the finalists for the MLS Goalkeeper of the year award. Celentano was a huge reason for the Orange and Blues success over the last year as he really anchored the ship back in the goal for Pat Noonan and FC Cincinnati.

Congratulations to all three current FC Cincinnati players on such an amazing feat as they help prepare the USMNT for their friendly against Slovenia that will take place on January 20th at 3pm at Toyota Field, in San Antonio, Texas.
